Russell M. Nelson, oldest-ever LDS Church president, turns 100

Current LDS Church President is oldest to hold the position

President Russell M. Nelson of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints celebrated his 100th birthday. He is the oldest person to serve as president of the faith.

Serving the faith for decades

Nelson was born on Sept. 9, 1924, in Salt Lake City. He has been a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles since 1984 and became president of the church in 2018.
