Chelsea Vs Dortmund

Chelsea Win 2-0 to Advance in Champions League

Sterling and Havertz Lead the Way

Chelsea overturned a first-leg deficit by beating Borussia Dortmund 2-0 at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday. Raheem Sterling and Kai Havertz scored the goals as Chelsea advanced to the quarter-finals of the Champions League with a 2-1 aggregate scoreline.

Chelsea pressed from the start in search of an early goal, but it was the visitors who had the first chance of the game. Adeyemi was played through on goal, but his shot was well saved by Kepa Arrizabalaga. Chelsea responded well and took the lead in the 17th minute after a fine team move ended with Sterling finishing off a cross from Ben Chilwell. The goal gave Chelsea a much-needed boost and they continued to create chances for the rest of the half.

Dortmund came out stronger in the second half and should have leveled the score on the hour mark when Adeyemi was once again played through on goal, but this time his shot was wayward. Chelsea made them pay for their profligacy soon after when Havertz doubled their lead in the 63rd minute after being teed up by Hakim Ziyech. The goal all but ended the game as a contest and Chelsea saw out the remaining time without ever looking like surrendering their lead.

The win was a timely boost for Chelsea, who have struggled for form in recent weeks. It also showed that they are still a force to be reckoned with in Europe. They will now face Real Madrid in the quarter-finals, a repeat of last season's Champions League semi-final.
